Description
This is an original WWII U.S. Army enlisted man's M37 service shirt. It is constructed of a "mustard" color wool flannel material. Its manufacturer's label has unfortunately faded beyond legibility. It is a size 15 x 33 but please refer to the Measurements section for more details. It retains its original interior gas flap. Inscribed on the front's interior is the original owner's laundry number, "M-2197". A search of the National Archives unfortunately reveals too many results to be conclusive.
Provenance
Personal Collection of Chelius Carter
Condition Report
This shirt is in fair, well used condition. It exhibits some mothing, mostly concentrated below the belt line; however, all of its original buttons remain intact.
