The ‘D-Day watches’ made from WWII helmets — and beach sand from Normandy

Gustafson’s is honored to collaborate with Belgian watchmaker Col&McArthur in the development of the Normandie 1944 line of wristwatches. Incorporated in the dial of each Normandie 1944 is a piece of steel from an original World War II U.S. M-1 helmet, as worn by the American G.I. in the European Theater of Operations. The Normandie 1944 is not merely a time teller, but a physical reminder and testament to the courage of those brave men who stormed the beaches of Normandy, France 81 years ago.
