Description

This is an original Korean War U.S. rear seam swivel loop M-1 helmet shell. It was manufactured by McCord Radiator & Manufacturing Co. of Detroit, Michigan and exhibits a very faint lot number of "M-192A". "A"-suffix lot numbers were used during McCord's 1951-58 contract. With its relatively low lot number, this particular example likely dates towards the start of that production run. The helmet retains its original olive drab factory finish, texture, and OD#7 (green) chinstraps with green painted steel hardware.
