Description

This is an original Korean War U.S. rear seam swivel loop M-1 helmet shell. Marked inside is actually a WWII Army Service Number of "32770395" and then again, with its last four digits, "0395". This service number belongs to Corporal Martin L. Krupinski. Unfortunately, we could not locate any evidence of continued service after WWII, as such there remains a substantial research opportunity for its new owner. This helmet was manufactured by McCord Radiator & Manufacturing Co. of Detroit, Michigan and exhibits a lot number of "M-177A". "A"-suffix lot numbers were used during McCord's 1951-58 contract. With its relatively low lot number, this particular example likely dates towards the start of that production run.
