Description

This is an original Korean War U.S. rear seam swivel loop M-1 helmet shell. It was manufactured by Motor Wheel Corp. of Lansing, Michigan. This small manufacturer received its helmet contract in early-1952 and began production later that September, with production ceasing by mid-1953. With its relatively low lot number of "MW A63", this particular example likely dates to 1952. It retains an original olive drab field repaint, texture, and OD#7 (green) chinstraps with green painted steel hardware.
