Description

This is an original Korean War U.S. M-1 helmet liner. It was produced in 1952 by Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Capac Manufacturing Company of Capac, Michigan. It features green-painted steel A-washers and an OD#7 (green) suspension. The suspension comes complete with its original headband and neckband. The headband's manufacturer's marking is somewhat faint, but appears to be Norman W. Cook, Inc. and is dated 1955. The neckband was manufactured in 1952 by Scholl Manufacturing Co., Inc. Atop the liner's original olive drab field repaint is a set of regimental decals. Unfortunately, their significance is unknown to us, but each features a horse and the mottos "VIDEMUS OMNIA" and "ALLONS".
