Description

This is an original Korean War U.S. M-1 helmet liner. It was manufactured in 1952 by the Micarta Division of Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Scratched into the interior's brim are the original owner's initials, "B.H.R." It features blackened brass A-washers and an OD#7 (green) suspension. Interestingly, this helmet liner was reissued after the Korean War as evident by the updated headband and neckband. The headband is dated 1961, while the neckband was manufactured by Yale Suspender & Belt Co. and appears to be dated 1955. Beneath exterior's original olive drab field repaint are a set of decals.
