Description
This is an original pre-Vietnam War U.S. P55 M-1 helmet liner. Interestingly, this liner does not feature the usual embossed manufacturer's marking of one of the known producers. Instead, it is stamped "6". It features black painted steel A-washers and an OD#7 (green) suspension. The liner's exterior retains its original black field repaint.

This helmet liner is in good, used condition. The resin impregnated duck cloth has delaminated somewhat, resulting in a crack at the rear that has not passed through to the liner's interior. One of the leather chinstrap's retention studs is damaged.
