Description
This is an original pre-WWII German Sturmabteilung (SA) Model 1933 ceremonial dagger with nickel fittings. What it lacks in condition it makes up for in rarity. This piece is marked "Carl Kloos, Solingen, Landwehr", which is ranked 10/10 on the McSARR rarity list, placing it among the very rarest makers of M33 daggers. The blade's opposite side bears the motto "Alles Fur Deutschland", or "Everything for Germany". The lower cross guard is stamped “Ns”, denoting use by SA-Gruppe Niedersachsen. It comes complete with its original scabbard.
Provenance
Private Collection, Dallas, Texas
Condition Report
This piece has definitely seen better days. The blade is pitted, chipped, and has fingerprint etchings. The wooden grip is a little loose. The scabbard has lost much of its anodized finish and its ball-tip is dented.
