Description
This is an original Vietnam War U.S. M-1C paratrooper helmet liner. It was manufactured by Firestone Tire and Rubber Company of Akron, Ohio. It features black painted steel A-washers and an OD#7 (green) suspension with since-severed rigger style paratrooper A-yokes. The suspension is dated July 21, 1967, and is marked "8516". Presumably, the original owner's nickname, "Stumpy", is inscribed on the exterior's original olive drab factory finish, along with a five-pointed star and "TNG". Unfortunately, the other markings' significance is unknown to us at this time.
