Description
This is an original Vietnam War U.S. M-1 helmet set. It is decorated with an original Mitchell pattern camouflage helmet cover marked "DSA-1-3839-64-C", dating its production to 1964. The rear seam swivel loop helmet shell was manufactured by Ingersoll Rand Products and exhibits a lot number of "1 2215". This is one of 3,174,296 helmets produced by Ingersoll from 1965 to 1968. The helmet retains its original olive drab factory finish, texture, and OD#7 (green) chinstraps with black painted steel hardware. The chinstrap's buckle and brackets are stamped with small anchors, denoting production by North & Judd. The helmet's liner features black-painted steel A-washers and an OD#7 suspension. It comes complete with its original headband. Unfortunately, a layer of dirt has concealed the manufacturer's and date stamping; however, production of this style of liner began in 1964. The liner's exterior retains its original olive drab factory finish.
