Description

This is an original Vietnam War U.S. M-1 helmet set. It is decorated with an original Mitchell pattern camouflage helmet cover from the 9085 contract, dating its production to mid-1965. Pinned to the cover's front is its original owner's private's rank insignia. The rear seam swivel loop helmet shell was manufactured by Ingersoll Rand Products and exhibits a lot number of "1 4454". This is one of 3,174,296 helmets produced by Ingersoll from 1965 to 1968. The helmet retains its original olive drab factory finish, texture, and OD#7 (green) chinstraps with blackened steel hardware. The hardware is stamped with small anchors, denoting production by North & Judd. The liner is an M-1C paratrooper variant. Its interior crown is marked "D-3593-GB-6", which is believed to denote production by Marmac Products Co. It features black painted steel A-washers and an OD#7 suspension with since-severed rigger style paratrooper A-yokes. The suspension is dated December 7, 1965. It comes complete with its original 1969-dated headband. The liner's exterior retains its original olive drab field repaint.
