Description

This is an original Vietnam War U.S. rear seam swivel loop M-1 helmet shell. It was manufactured by Ingersoll Rand Products and exhibits a lot number of "1 - _232". This is one of 3,174,296 helmets produced by Ingersoll from 1965 to 1968. The helmet retains an original olive drab field repaint, texture, and black painted steel chinstrap brackets, which are stamped with small anchors, denoting production by North & Judd.

This helmet shell is in fair condition, with wear consistent with that of a combat-used example. Unfortunately, its chinstraps are missing, the steel rim exhibits some rust damage, and there is a stress crack at the rear.
