Description

This is an original Vietnam War U.S. M-4 bayonet for the M-1 carbine. The crossguard is marked "U.S. M4, CAMILLUS", denoting production by Camillus Cutlery Company of Camillus, New York. The crossguard's reverse showcases a "flaming bomb" Ordnance Corps proof while the pommel is marked with a small "T". Beginning in 1954, M-1 carbine bayonets were outfitted with plastic grips, which are unfortunately missing on this example. Overall, it measures approximately 11 inches, with a 6 1/4-inch blade.

Provenance

In July of 2025, Gustafson's acquired the inventory of Circa1941. This piece was among those acquisitions.
