Description
This is an original pair of WWI Imperial German Army 6x binoculars. These binoculars were produced by Carl Paul Goerz, of Berlin, Germany, and are marked "C.P., GOERZ, BERLIN". The "HELI-TRIËDER" marking stands for "Helinox Triëder", first introduced in 1911. In addition to the manufacturer's markings, the original owner etched into the brass his surname, "Pasch". They come with their original, albeit damaged, integrated lens cover which is secured to the binoculars' bridge via three retaining springs.
Provenance
Private Collection, Round Top, Texas
Condition Report
These binoculars are in well used condition, with foggy optics, corrosion, and signs of wear throughout. For being well over 100 years old, they still display quite nicely.
