Description
This is an original pair of WWI Imperial German Army dienstglas binoculars. These were produced by Emil Busch A.-G. of Rathenow, Germany, and bear factory markings of "D.F.03 6fach U.F. DIENSTGLAS No. 915", along with the serial number of "96092". In addition to the manufacturer's markings, the original owner etched into the brass his initials "A.K." and his unit identification "RJR71" of the Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 71. They come with their original lens cover and leather carrying strap.
Provenance
Private Collection, Dallas, Texas
Condition Report
For being well over 100 years old, these binoculars are in good, used condition, with clear optics. The original leather strap shows what appears to be a period repair.
