Veteran's Information

Bonnie H. Murchison was born on September 2, 1894, in Halls, Tennessee. He registered for the draft and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. As a pre-war bookkeeper for Halls Supply Co., Murchison was well-qualified to perform the clerical and administrative duties of a yeoman during the war, eventually attaining the rank of Y1c. Murchison survived the war and died in October of 1976. He is buried in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Made available to the new owner below are Murchison's Draft Registration cards, 1930 U.S. Census report showing his status as a WWI veteran, and gravesite (note his headstone erroneously lists his rank as a yeoman third class, which was likely a misinterpretation of this very uniform's three chevrons).
