Description

These whistles were often secured to the collars of the airman's A-2 leather flight jacket to signal rescue craft or passing ships if shot down over water. This particular example was manufactured in England by GEMSCO (General Embroidery & Military Supply Company). It appears to be constructed of steel, with a brass plating.
