Description
This is an original pair of WWII German dienstglas 6x30 binoculars with their original and rather rare brown leather case with integrated compass. These binoculars were produced by Ernst Leitz GmbH of Wetzlar, Germany, and bear the serial number of "317914". The "H/6400" marking denotes the presence of a range-finding reticle in the user's right-hand lens. They retain their original 1941-dated knopflasche, which the wearer could use to fasten the binoculars to a tunic button. In addition to its year of production, it is marked "beh", which was Ernst Leitz's factory code. Interestingly, the binoculars themselves do not exhibit the "beh" factory code, potentially indicating pre-1938 production, before the factory code system was implemented. The case's bottom is inscribed with the original owner's surname, "Beck", and the pull tab's reverse is stamped "I".

Condition Report
These binoculars are in good, used condition, with quite clear optics given their age, however the user's right-hand lens does show some internal lubrication on the glass. The case's leather is worn; however, the pull tab is strong and intact.
