Description

This is an original WWII German Leica IIIc 35 mm film camera body, produced by Ernst Leitz GmbH of Wetzlar, Germany. Collectors have dubbed these wartime Leicas as "steppers" due to the raised area beneath the rewind lever - a feature only seen on these cameras produced from March 1940 to June 1946. This particular example bears the serial number of "385476", dating its production from 1941 to 1942. It is one of just 20,550 Leica IIIcs produced by Leitz during this timeframe.

Excellent

This camera is in very good, functional condition; however, it could likely benefit from a complete servicing. Unlike many examples, it is still in its wartime configuration with no post-war modifications. It retains its original, albeit cracking, vulcanite (imitation leather) covering and all of its internal components are present.
