Description
This is an original WWII German M1931 helmet liner band. Its now-missing leather liner would have been a size 56, to be paired with a size 64 helmet shell. The zinc band showcases a 1942 production stamp by B. & C. Litzmannstadt, a manufacturer in the Jewish ghetto located in Łódź, Poland. This liner band would be ideal for an M42 helmet.
Provenance
Private Collection, West Sacramento, California
Condition Report
This liner band is in good, used condition. There is some rust throughout, the internal band's springs exhibit some paint loss; however, there are no signs of post-war paint applications.
