Description
This is an original WWII German M1931 helmet liner and chinstrap. The leather liner is a size 56 and is to be paired with a size 64 helmet shell. It is inscribed with its original owner's name "A. Stocker". A search of the Volksbund Grave Registry unfortunately reveals too many results to be conclusive. Its zinc band showcases a 1944 production stamp and the "RBNr. 0/0250/0322" marking of F.W. Müller Jr., Berlin, making it an ideal candidate for an M42 helmet. The steel-buckled chinstrap has been shortened, resulting in the loss of its manufacturer's marking.

Condition Report
This piece is in excellent, lightly used condition. Both the liner and chinstrap's leather remain soft and pliable. Interestingly, it appears to have once been installed in a helmet that was painted red as there are a couple spots of red paint on the components' outer edges. It still retains its original drawstring.
