Description
This is an original WWII German M1931 helmet liner. The leather liner is a size 58 and is to be paired with a size 66 helmet shell. Its zinc band showcases a 1940 production stamp by Schuberth Werk, K.-G. Braunschweig, making it an ideal candidate for an M40 helmet.
Provenance
Private Collection, Dallas, Texas
Condition Report
The zinc band is somewhat misshapen; however, it shows no signs of post-war paint applications. The leather has cracked and dried over time and a few of its aluminum split pins are missing, making it suitable for a helmet in equally used condition.
