Description

This is an original and rather uncommon WWII German M35 reissued ex-single decal Kriegsmarine helmet. Beneath its original feldgrau repaint, on the wearer's left side, one can just make out the unique, layered construction of a Kriegsmarine decal (note the eagle's shoulders and head). Unlike the Heer, Luftwaffe, and Waffen-SS, the Kriegsmarine was not issued replacement decals, explaining why none was subsequently applied following the helmet's field repaint. The inside brim is size stamped "SE62", along with the lot number of "6327", denoting 1940 production by the Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke A.G., Lauter factory. The interior retains its original leather liner, drawstring, and chinstrap. The chinstrap exhibits a grey painted steel buckle. The helmet's split pins and washers are all original and show no signs of tampering.

Provenance

In July of 2025, Gustafson's acquired the inventory of Circa1941. This piece was among those acquisitions.
