Description
This is an original WWII German M40 single decal Heer helmet. The inside brim is size stamped "ET62", along with the lot number of "284", denoting 1940 production by the Eisenhüttenwerke, Thale factory. It showcases its original feldgrau factory finish. The interior retains its original size 55 leather liner and chinstrap. The chinstrap exhibits a grey painted steel buckle, while the liner is inscribed with the original owner's initials, "J.G." Interestingly, it features a reinforced aluminum liner band - most commonly seen in M35 helmets but also in early production M40 examples. The helmet's split pins and washers are all original and show no signs of tampering.

This helmet is in good, combat-used condition. There is minor surface rust throughout. The leather liner retains all of its tongues; however, its drawstring is missing. The chinstrap is unfortunately torn, but the separated piece is still present. This helmet displays quite nicely with its original decal still relatively intact.
