Description

This is an original WWII German M42 double decal Polizei helmet. The inside brim is size stamped "EF66", along with the lot number of "15196", denoting 1943 production by the Emaillierwerke A.G., Fulda factory. Interestingly, Brian Ice's German Helmet Lot Numbers 1935-1945 identifies this helmet as having rare "block script" factory and size markings. Its original slate-grey textured factory finish is intact; however, its decals are quite worn - likely a result of poor lacquer application at the factory. A hardened, black substance is adhered to the helmet's exterior and interior brim. The interior retains its original size 58 leather liner, partially damaged chinstrap, and faint dome stamp. The chinstrap exhibits a steel buckle. The helmet's split pins and washers are all original and show no signs of tampering.

Provenance

In July of 2025, Gustafson's acquired the inventory of Circa1941. This piece was among those acquisitions.

Excellent

This helmet is in good, combat-used condition. The leather liner retains all of its tongues; however, its drawstring is missing. Although its decals are well worn, this helmet displays quite nicely.
