WWII German Private Purchase 8x24 Grossfeld Binoculars by Hensoldt Wetzlar with Strap

Description

This is an original pair of WWII German private purchase 8x24 binoculars. It was common at the time for officers' families to directly purchase the quintessential "officer" items (binoculars, sidearms, jackboots, etc.). These Grossfeld binoculars were produced by Hensoldt & Sohne Werke A-G of Wetzlar, Germany. Interestingly, their high-quality lenses were constructed by Spezialglas A-G, a subsidiary of Carl Zeiss since 1930. They come with their original leather carrying strap intact.

These binoculars are in excellent condition, with very little finish loss and quite clear optics given their age.
