Description

This original WWII German watercolor painting on paper depicts a Gebirgsjäger. We can see he is armed with a K98k and is wearing cold weather clothing including the iconic M43 Bergmütze cap, complete with stacked insignia and Edelweiß badge. In the background is a mountain range and an apparent headstone with cross. The painting, marked with the artist's signature, "SW", in the lower center, measures approximately 11 13/16 inches wide and 15 13/16 inches tall. It comes with a modern high-quality aluminum frame with matte glass (shown in the final two images).
