Description
This original WWII Italian M33 helmet has a very subtle camouflage paint scheme, consisting of green and brown tones applied atop its factory finish. The original owner's name is faintly inscribed twice on the helmet's interior. The rear interior brim is stamped "S 2 1". Unfortunately, this particular manufacturer has yet to be positively identified; however, we can be certain the helmet is of early-war production due to the three split-pin vents (later examples utilized a "starburst"-like rivet to secure the vents). The interior retains its original size 60 leather liner, chinstrap, and drawstring. The liner features the earlier "=" stitch at the rear (as opposed to the later "Z" stitch). The chinstrap exhibits a set of two rivets securing each side to the helmet's bails.

Condition Report
This helmet is in good, combat-used condition. The painted finish is heavily worn and several of the liner's brass split pins are missing. Interestingly, wire was woven through some of the vacant holes to secure the leather to the liner band. The chinstrap is fully intact; however, it has dried somewhat with age.
