Description
This is an original WWII U.S. 2" camouflage M-1 helmet net. It began its life as part of a much larger vehicle-sized netting, before a GI cut out a square just large enough to fit an M1 helmet. 2" camouflage helmet nets were popular among members of the 551st Parachute Infantry Regiment; and in the Pacific Theater of Operations, Marines would sometimes wear these over their camouflage helmet covers. It is displayed here on a fixed loop helmet set (not included) but would also be appropriate for swivel loop helmets.
