Description

This is an original WWII U.S. Army enlisted man's M37 service shirt. It is constructed of a "mustard" color wool flannel material. Its manufacturer's label has unfortunately faded beyond legibility. It is a size 15 x 33 but please refer to the Measurements section for more details. It retains its original 37th Infantry Division shoulder sleeve insignia, matching set of technician 5th grade rank insignia patches, an honorable service ruptured duck patch, and a three-year overseas service patch on the wearer's left cuff. Inscribed beneath the collar and interior placket is the original owner's laundry number, "M-5300". A search of the National Archives unfortunately reveals too many results to be conclusive.

Provenance

Personal Collection of Chelius Carter
