Description
This is an original WWII U.S. Army enlisted man's M37 service shirt. It is constructed of a "mustard" color wool flannel material. Its manufacturer's and size label has unfortunately faded beyond legibility but please refer to the Measurements section for more details. It retains its original 4th Infantry Division shoulder sleeve insignia, matching set of corporal rank insignia patches, and interior gas flap. Inscribed on the placket's interior are the laundry numbers of two different servicemen, "S-3684" and "T-3599". A search of the National Archives unfortunately reveals too many results to be conclusive.
Provenance
Personal Collection of Chelius Carter
