Description

This is an original WWII U.S. Army Alaska Defense Command uniform grouping, consisting of a wet weather parka, coveralls, wool scarf, socks, and mukluks. Although not physically marked as such, this grouping originally belonged to Technician 5th Grade Pete Mase, who served with the Alaska Defense Command in the Aleutian Islands during the war. Both the parka and coveralls are constructed of rubberized canvas. The parka is a first model Army issue, as evidenced by the hook closures and 13-star metal cuff buttons, respectively, whereas the size large coveralls are actually USN issue from the NXSX 38173 contract - an interesting example of wartime expediency. The parka's manufacturer's and size label could not be located; however, it too is likely a size large. Also included is T/5 Mase's wool scarf, marked "A125", socks, and leather-soled mukluks, which are size large and were produced by Holmes, Stickney & Walker Inc. of Portland, Maine. The final image is provided compliments of this grouping's prior owner and shows T/5 Mase after the war with his original M37 wool service shirt (neither included nor in our possession).

Excellent

This uniform grouping is in good, well used condition. The wool pieces exhibit mothing, and the rubberized seams on the interior of the coveralls are somewhat tacky.
