Description
This is an original WWII U.S. Army enlisted man's M37 service shirt. It is constructed of a "mustard" color wool flannel material. Unfortunately, its manufacturer's and size labels have since been removed but please refer to the Measurements section for more details. It retains its original, matching set of corporal rank insignia patches. Inscribed beneath the collar is the original owner's laundry number, "M-3548". A search of the National Archives unfortunately reveals too many results to be conclusive. Additionally, the front's interior appears to be marked with a complete name and Army Service Number; however, it is too faint to discern.
Provenance
Personal Collection of Chelius Carter
