Description
This is an original pair of WWII U.S. Army M-1944 sun, wind and dust goggles from "STOCK No. 74-G-77". These are often seen worn by tankers and strapped to the M-1 helmets of combat infantrymen serving in the ETO from 1944 to war's end. This set includes the goggles, cardboard box, instructions and replacement lens. They are marked with a manufacturer's logo consisting of two "V"s, each pierced with a vertical line. Unfortunately, we are not certain to which company this logo belongs.
Provenance
Personal Collection of Chelius Carter
Condition Report
These goggles are in fair condition. The lens currently installed has a crack running through it and the replacement lens is damaged as well. These would make for a nice addition to a well-used helmet set.
