Description
This is an original WWII U.S. Army M1928 haversack. It was manufactured in 1942 by Rubero. It is marked several times with the original owner's laundry number, "K-7813". A search of the National Archives unfortunately reveals too many results to be conclusive. This haversack retains its original, matching mess kit pouch (also known as a "meat can").
Provenance
Private Collection, Bradenton, Florida
Condition Report
This haversack is in good, used condition. All of its straps, hooks, and buckles remain intact. There is a small hole in the webbing and a repaired section, both of which are only visible when the haversack is undone.
