Description

This is an original WWII U.S. Army officer's crusher cap. Although not physically marked as such, this cap once belonged to Captain Alfred W. Jones, O-278990, and comes complete with his original calling card. View the Veteran's Information section for more details regarding Capt. Jones' life and military service. Its original owner removed the cap's interior wire stiffener, allowing the cap to be reshaped and "crushed" into a silhouette more popular among American servicemen. It is constructed of a summer weight khaki material and features a russet brown leather visor and chinstrap. The front is decorated with a gold-plated brass officer's device. Unfortunately, no manufacturer's marking nor size tag could be located; however, it has been measured and is a confirmed size 6 3/4.
