Description
This is an original WWII U.S. Army officer's service cap, marketed as "The Fly-Weighter" by Lewis, which is believed to be Lewis Hat Company of Truro, Nova Scotia. It is constructed of a summer weight khaki cotton and features a russet brown leather visor and chinstrap. The front is decorated with a gold-plated brass standard-sized officer's device. Its interior is marked size 7 and it still retains its original wire stiffener.

This cap is in good condition, however the stitching on its visor has come undone, resulting in the separation of the leather layers.
