Description

This is an original WWII U.S. China Service Medal ribbon. The China Service Medal was established for the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard on July 1, 1942, and was awarded to servicemen and women who either served ashore in China or were attached to any of the vessels that operated in support of the operations in China between July 7, 1937, and September 7, 1939. Although a WWII award, the "S-26" marking on the ribbon's reverse indicates post-war construction.

Provenance

In July of 2025, Gustafson's acquired the inventory of Circa1941. This piece was among those acquisitions.
