Description

This is an original matching set of WWII U.S. M-1 helmet chinstraps, consisting of brass hardware and OD#3 (khaki) webbing. The buckle exhibits the raised bar. This set was recovered from a late-war McCord Radiator & Manufacturing Co. swivel loop helmet but would have also been seen on earlier fixed loop examples.

These chinstraps are in fair, heavily used condition. The shorter strap has been torn from both the helmet's loop as well as approximately halfway through the strap, while the longer strap is heavily frayed where it once came in contact with the helmet's loop.
