Description
This is an original WWII U.S. M-1 helmet liner headband. Unfortunately, its manufacturer's marking has faded beyond legibility. It is inscribed with the original owner's laundry number, "P-9904". The buckle is blackened brass, while the third pattern spring clips are green painted steel - a combination introduced on November 5, 1943, and utilized until the end of the war. This would be an ideal headband for a helmet liner with blackened brass A-washers.

Condition Report
This headband is in fair, well used condition. Generally, the leather remains pliable; however, there is some cracking throughout.
