Description
This listing is for a single original WWII U.S. M-1 helmet liner headband; however, five are available. These were all produced by Scholl Manufacturing Co. and bare the contract code of "W11-009-QM 17003". The hardware is green painted steel, approximately dating their production from mid-1942 to late-1943. They exhibit third pattern spring clips, which have a fold in the metal's bottom edge. These would be ideal headbands for helmet liners with either non-painted or green painted steel A-washers.
The headband you receive might not be the exact one shown here; however, it will be substantially similar and, of course, original.
Provenance
Private Collection, Stevens Point, Wisconsin
Condition Report
These headbands are in very good, lightly used condition; the leather remains quite soft and pliable.
