Description
This original WWII U.S. M-1 helmet liner headband was produced by Sun Shoe Manufacturing Co. The hardware is green painted steel, dating the headband's production from mid-1942 to late-1943. It exhibits the second version of the spring clip, which has a straight bottom edge and three sets of jagged indentations at its sides. This would be an ideal headband for a helmet liner with either non-painted or green painted steel A-washers.

Condition Report
This headband is in good condition. Generally, the leather remains quite soft and supple; however, the area that was in contact with the wearer's forehead has darkened and dried with use.
