Description
This original WWII U.S. M-1 helmet liner neckband was manufactured by Scholl Manufacturing Co. Unfortunately, its production date marking has faded beyond legibility; however, due to this being an adjustable example we can deduce it was manufactured in either 1944 or 1945. This neckband exhibits blackened brass United Carr snaps. Brass snaps were utilized for a short time in mid-1942 and then were reintroduced in late-1943 due to brass no longer being considered a scarce material. This would be an ideal neckband for a helmet liner with blackened brass A-washers.

Condition Report
This neckband is in fair, well used condition. All four snaps are intact; however, they exhibit verdigris, and the fabric is somewhat grimy.
