WWII U.S. "M44" Camouflage M-1 Helmet Net with Foliage Band

Description

This is an original WWII U.S. “Net, Helmet, with Band”, better known by collectors as the “M44” net. Interestingly, it wasn’t until the M44 that the U.S. created its own camouflage helmet net. The vast majority of helmet nets seen in wartime photographs are actually of British manufacture. M44 nets began appearing in the European Theater of Operations in the Fall of 1944. It is displayed here on a fixed loop helmet set (not included) but would also be appropriate for swivel loop helmets.

This helmet net is in good, used condition. The elastic band still maintains its properties; however, there are some tears in the netting.
