Description
This is an original WWII U.S. front seam fixed loop M-1 helmet shell. It was manufactured by McCord Radiator & Manufacturing Co. of Detroit, Michigan and exhibits a lot number of "53C", approximately dating its production from mid-1941 to early-1942. The helmet retains an original olive drab field repaint, cork texture, and OD#3 (khaki) chinstraps with brass hardware and a cast-brass buckle carried over from the M1917A1. Although the end-keeper is not fastened down to the strap, it is not broken and can be resecured should the new owner decide to do so.
Provenance
