Description
This is an original WWII U.S. son in service window banner. These would have been displayed in the windows of the childhood homes of U.S. servicemen, with the number of stars representing how many sons from that household were in the service. It is constructed of screen-printed silk, with a red border, white center, single blue star, denoting one son in the service, and gold fringe. The banner itself measures approximately 8.25 inches wide and 12 inches tall, with a 10.75-inch hanger.
Provenance
Personal Collection of Chelius Carter
