Description
This original WWII U.S. studio photograph captures a tanker in his Army dress uniform. Atop his head is a wool garrison cap, presumably with green and white piping, denoting the armor branch. Stitched to his jacket is the shoulder sleeve insignia of the Armored Headquarters and affixed to his collar are armor discs. Interestingly, pinned to his chest are sterling silver sharpshooter qualification badges for both the rifle and machine gun. Unfortunately, there is no information inscribed on the photograph's reverse. The photograph measures approximately 5 inches wide and 7 inches tall.
Provenance
Personal Collection of Chelius Carter
