Description

This is an original WWII U.S. M-1 helmet liner. It was produced by Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It features blackened brass A-washers and an OD#3 (khaki) suspension, approximately dating the liner's production from mid-1944 to 1945. The suspension comes complete with its original leather chinstrap with blackened brass buckle and United Carr rivets, headband, and a recently installed 1944-dated Paul K. Weil Co. size medium neckband. Interestingly, the 1945-dated headband is a very rare example manufactured by a previously unknown producer - Assoc. L. S. Co. The liner's exterior retains its original olive drab factory finish.
