Description
This is an original WWII U.S. Army Air Force AN-S-31 summer flying suit from the 44-10145 contract. The AN-S-31 was introduced in early-1943 alongside the AN-6550 to replace the Type A-4. This example was manufactured by Aircraft Appliance Corp. of Chicago, Illinois. It is constructed of olive drab gabardine wool material. It is a size 46 medium but please refer to the Measurements section for more details.

Condition Report
This flying suit is in fair, well used condition. It exhibits a repair at the back, and several small snags throughout. Many of the belt loops are either damaged or missing; however, the TALON zipper remains intact and functional. One of the buttons on the wearer's left leg opening is missing and another is broken.
